Coming in from healthcare, banking, teaching, the trades — anything. You do not need a computer-science degree. You need proof you can build, and a plan that does not ask you to quit your job first. Your discipline from another career is an asset here, not a disadvantage.

• Read Class One — what cloud actually is. No account, about twenty minutes. If the electricity-grid idea clicks, you are wired for this.
• Read the honest career-change plan (for people with bills) — keep your paycheck, build on nights and weekends, move only when the offer is real.
• Make your free account. Classes 2–42 are included, no card — it just saves your progress.
• Read Classes 2–4 — why cloud, the trade-offs, and IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS.
• Do Lab L01 in the browser — deploy a storage account as code, then tear it back down to $0. This is the moment infrastructure-as-code clicks.
• Do five Azure CLI drills — type the command yourself before you flip the card. Reading is not doing.
• Sit one AZ-900 practice set — twenty questions. Every miss walks you back to the class that teaches it. AZ-900 is the right first exam.
• Check your gaps on the job-ready map. Most career-changers start with two or three ticks — that is the point of the map, not a verdict.

• Do Lab L01, then L02 — real infrastructure you deploy and tear down to $0 in the browser. Finite, verifiable, done.
• Read Classes 7–9 (identity) before Lab L03, so the jump to managed identity and Entra does not wall you.
• Sit one AZ-900 practice set to find the holes your videos glossed over.
• Look at the three capstone repositories you are working toward — the public proof that ends the “walk me through something you built” interview.

Once you have been round once — a class read, a lab shipped, drills typed, a practice exam sat — you are not a beginner staring at forty-two classes any more. You are someone with a rhythm. Repeat it through the phases: the full contents map every class to the job posting it came from, and each phase ends in something you built. That is the whole method: small moves, repeated, until you have receipts.
